New APIs and Gateway commands allow support for third-party database activity monitoring tools.
Client sessions communicate through the gateway to Teradata Database. To support third-party database activity monitoring tools, Teradata can now send all traffic to and from the gateway to a third-party monitoring tool or appliance using a provider-supplied monitoring library. Teradata defines a new monitoring API that can be implemented for this purpose in the provider's library, and new gateway commands control whether and how the monitoring library is used.
Benefits
Allows third-party database activity monitoring tools and software to work smoothly with Teradata Database.
Considerations
This feature utilizes a library of monitoring routines that must be provided by the third-party provider of the database activity monitoring tools.
