The following rules apply to using UPDATE (Upsert Form) requests on row‑partitioned
tables with a primary index.
When an update to a base table row that causes an insert into a join index with row
partitioning, a partitioning expression for that index row must result in a value
between 1 and the number of row partitions defined for that level. Otherwise, Teradata
Database aborts the request and returns an error.
