While most jobs under z/OS are started by a Job Entry Subsystem such as JES2 or JES3, it is also possible for jobs to be started by the facility that starts the Job Entry Subsystem itself. This component is called the Master Scheduler (MSTR). For Teradata Director Program there is no advantage to being started by MSTR, though it can be done.
