    “BL” if a Bus and Tag channel is used.

    “CVC” if the Block Multiplexer device is connected to an ESCON channel through the use of an ESCON converter, such as an IBM 9034.

    protocol_type

    “S” for all servers with the channel interface set for data streaming at 3 MB per second.

    “S4” for all servers with the channel interface set for data streaming at 4.5 MB per second.
