During recovery from a Teradata Database crash or an AP Reset, communication with the affected sessions is essentially lost. Since this loss will delay the use of such sessions, the applications specify what actions to take when so delayed.
The DBCAREA has two crash-related processing options: Tell-if-delay and Wait-during-delay. The following sections passages the three combinations that are allowed.
The setting of Wait-for-response has no effect on the processing shown below.
