TDP0376 UNABLE TO RETAIN OPERATOR MESSAGE IDENTITIES, CODE(code)

Explanation:

This message indicates that the identifier for an action message issued by TDP cannot be retained. The displayed hexadecimal code is of the form 000008xx, where 'xx' is one of the following: 4 if the number of current action messages issued by TDP exceeds an internal TDP limit. 8 if a shortage of virtual storage within TDP prevents retention of any action messages. 10 if the operating system could not issue the message. TDP processing is unaffected, but if the operating system retains action messages on operator consoles, affected messages will not be automatically deleted by TDP.

Generated By:

TDP.

Notes:

This and subsequent TDP action messages are processed as normal, but TDP will not be able to delete the message if it is retained by the operating system. This message will be issued no more than once each time TDP is started for codes 4 or 8, and once for code 10. If the displayed code is 4 then as current messages are deleted, subsequent message identities will be retained until the limit is again reached. If the code is 8, message identities will not be retained until TDP is restarted, possibly with more virtual storage. If the code is 10, then message identities will not be retained until the operating system again issues such messages.

Remedy:

If the displayed code is 4, there is no remedy. If the code is 8, restarting TDP with additional virtual storage or fewer TDP storage cells may resolve the situation. If the code is 10, then the remedy lies in the operating system. For MVS, correcting the conditions which result in WTO return codes X'50' through X'64', inclusive
