The ODBC driver for UNIX and Linux currently allows mapping ClientKanjiFormat to specify a character set format. The data returned is translated from the session character set to the ClientKanjiFormat for SJIS and EUC.

For example, the session character set can be set to KANJIEUC_0U and the ClientKanjiFormat DSN option can be set to SJIS. This allows the client to use SJIS data for SQL_C_CHAR bound data. ODBC Driver for Teradata converts between SJIS and the KANJIEUC_0U session character set.

In the future, the ClientKanjiFormat mapping will be removed.
