Teradata Viewpoint connects to its internal PostgreSQL database using a few different users. The passwords for each of these users are randomly generated and encrypted during Viewpoint installation and upgrade, if the default password has not been changed.
To comply with security best practices, Teradata Viewpoint provides a script that changes these passwords and stores the encrypted passwords in a protected file. Running the command in a clustered environment updates the credentials in both nodes.
- Run the following command on the primary Viewpoint server:/opt/teradata/viewpoint/bin/changedbpasswd.sh
All Teradata Viewpoint services in the Viewpoint cluster are restarted by this script.
