  1. Open file /opt/teradata/viewpoint/portal/conf/server.xml
  2. Update the value for field keystorePass with <newpassword>
  3. Save file
  4. Update java keystore password :
    1. Create a backup of current viewpoint keystore

      cp /etc/opt/teradata/viewpoint/certs /tmp/certs

    2. Update keystore password

      /opt/teradata/jvm64/jdk8/bin/keytool -storepasswd -new <newpassword> -keystore /etc/opt/teradata/viewpoint/certs-storepass viewpoint

    3. Update key password

      /opt/teradata/jvm64/jdk8/bin/keytool -keypasswd -alias tomcat -keystore /etc/opt/teradata/viewpoint/certs -storepass <newpassword>

      1. Enter key password for <tomcat>: → viewpoint
      2. New key password for <tomcat>: → newpassword
      3. Re-enter new key password for <tomcat>: → newpassword
  5. Restart viewpoint
    service viewpoint restart
  6. (Clustered Viewpoint) The steps 1-5 must be performed on both active and standby nodes. Note that, the keystore password on both active and standby must match.
    If an upgrade or reinstall of viewpoint rpm is performed after the password is updated, the password gets reverted to default in /opt/teradata/viewpoint/portal/conf/server.xml. The field keystorePass in /opt/teradata/viewpoint/portal/conf/server.xml must be re-updated.
