Components Guidelines

Generation

Nodes in coexistence systems must follow all coexistence rules for their generation. Each generation must have certified storage for the platform to which it is attached.

SYMplicity

For systems with Teradata disk arrays, SYMplicity software, version 10.86 or later, must be installed on the SWS.

Vendor

External drive storage models from the same vendor can be mixed in a coexistence system. For example, you can have different models of Teradata disk arrays.

Cliques

All storage drives must be HDD storage drives.

All array drives within a clique must have matching drive capacity.

Cliques within a system can be of different product generations.

External storage within a clique must be of a consistent product generation and RAID implementation.

All external drive storage within a clique must be of consistent drive capacity and performance (speed).
