Drives in a 6800H system are a combination of SSDs and HDDs.

The following coexistence configurations are supported for a 6800H 3+1 clique with SDDs and HDDs:

6800H 3+1 SSD:HDD Ratio Configuration
16:72
  • Three Teradata Database nodes plus one hot standby node to four disk arrays (3:4 ratio)
  • 36 AMPs per node (APN)
  • 16 SSDs per active node, 72 HDDs per active node (mixed drive types in each disk array)
10.67:96
  • Three Teradata Database nodes plus one hot standby node to four disk arrays (3:4 ratio)
  • 24 AMPs per node (APN)
  • 10.67 SSDs per active node, 96 HDDs per active node (mixed drive types in each disk array)
10.67:112
  • Three Teradata Database nodes plus one hot standby node to four disk arrays (3:4 ratio)
  • 28 AMPs per node (APN)
  • 10.67 SSDs per active node, 112 HDDs per active node (mixed drive types in each disk array)
16:84
  • Three Teradata Database nodes plus one hot standby node to four disk arrays (3:4 ratio)
  • 42 AMPs per node (APN)
  • 16 SSDs per active node, 84 HDDs per active node (mixed drive types in each disk array)
10.67:96
  • Three Teradata Database nodes plus one hot standby node to four disk arrays (3:4 ratio)
  • 16 AMPs per node (APN)
  • 10.67 SSDs per active node, 96 HDDs per active node (mixed drive types in each disk array)
These 6800H 3+1 configurations have the same number of AMPs and drives as 2+1 clique configurations, but the AMPs and drives are distributed on three nodes (with 10.67 SSDs per active node; 32 SSDs per 3 active nodes).

Guidelines differ depending on whether the configuration is a variable configuration.

For a 6800H 3+1 clique with four disk arrays, coexisting with a 6750H system, the following guidelines apply:

  • Three Teradata Database nodes plus one hot standby node to four disk arrays (3:4 ratio)
  • Up to 42 AMPs per node
  • Up to 122.67 drives per node (mixed drive types in each disk array)
  • Up to 92 drives per array
