Feature

Description

A: Repository Metamodels drop-down list

Select a metamodel from the list to serve as the focus of the search. DatabaseModel or DIM is the default.

B: Search Definition Controls

These controls let you:

  • Define the scope of the search by selecting a category (class), field, filter, and search value. The exact appearance of this area varies by search mode.
  • Set the number of results displayed.
  • Display all fields to include all property field values in the search results for the metadata category being searched.
  • Include frozen objects lets you include object versions whose publish state is current, but are in a frozen state. Frozen versions of objects may not be modified.
  • Include classes that inherit properties and relationships for the class selected. The subclasses are automatically searched.
  • Include obje3540ct versions whose publish state is Current, but are in a Frozen state. Frozen versions may not be modified.
  • Do not display names for parent objects like Table, View, Database, and System for warehouse items in the DIM, improving performance on object reads.
  • Click Search to start the search using the current selections or Clear to clear the selections and start over.

    C: Search Results

This area displays the results of the current search. The object names in the search results are hyperlinks. Click a hyperlink to see detailed metadata for the object.

You can use the page navigation controls at the bottom of the search results to view additional pages (if any).

    D: Save to Excel

Click to save the current search results to an Excel worksheet. This option requires that you have Microsoft Excel installed on your system.
