C2S-conversion is initialized to the default value provided for C2S-conversion in the site‘s HSHSPB. But if the value is not appropriate for the application, the application may, before calling DBCHCL for Initiate or Initiate With Protocol-function, change the value as follows:
  1. Set Change-options to ‘Y‘.
  2. Change the value for C2S-conversion as follows:
    If... Then set C2S-conversion to...
such conversions are to be rejected and terminate the request R
such conversions are to be ignored (and the unacceptable character replaced by the character in the client‘s character set defined to be used to represent invalid characters) I
the Teradata Database default C2S-conversion setting is to be used D

Use mnemonics for the codes. Mnemonics are provided in the language definition file for the DBCAREA.
