Continued-characters-state specifies whether character data crossing multiple response parcels in MultipartIndicator mode is well-formed within each parcel or only when all parcels are considered. This option has effect only if the character set being used supports locking-shifts (such as the Shift-out and Shift-in control characters).

indicates that character data crossing multiple response parcels in MultipartIndicator mode is well-formed within each parcel. This is appropriate if the data in each parcel is processed separately. 'U'
