Configuration Session
Before the system can be reconfigured, you must run the Configuration utility to create a new configuration map and any new contiguous maps needed for data distribution. The Reconfiguration utility reads the maps and creates the new configuration. This is an example of a Configuration session to add two AMPs to a system. For more information about the Configuration utility, see Configuration Utility (config).
The CONFIG program provides the user with a facility to review and update the configuration of the DBS thru commands which are provided by this program. Press <F7> for help. The following contiguous maps are defined on this system: TD_GlobalMap (Map Number 1) has Amps 0-3 and 2 PEs defined. TD_DataDictionaryMap (Map Number 2) has Amps 0-3 and 2 PEs defined. TD_Map1 (Map Number 1025) has Amps 0-3 and 2 PEs defined (System Default Map). TD_Map2 (Map Number 1031) has Amps 0-3 and 2 PEs defined. TD_Map3 (Map Number 1032) has Amps 0-3 and 2 PEs defined. > bc OK. > aa 4-5, cn = 1 OK. The AMPs 4 to 5 are added. > ec OK. The session terminated. TD_Map4 is saved.> > s Config is about to be stopped.
Reconfiguration Session
The following example shows the complete output from a system reconfiguration for the two added AMPs. (Some of the redistribution phase and deletion phase output has been eliminated for brevity.)
The RECONFIG program provides the user with a facility
to redistribute data when the configuration of a DBS is
changed by pressing the appropriate function key.
