Column settings can be modified when moving tables between Teradata and Hadoop or Teradata and Aster systems. If a target column is not specified, the source column name is used as the target. If the source column name is not valid on the target system, the column must be renamed to a valid value.

  1. In the object browser, click the check box next to the name of the table that contains the column you want to copy.
  2. Click next to the table.
  3. Click next to the column. The name of the column displays at the top of the Column Settings dialog box.
  4. If you want to rename the column on the target, enter a name in Name on Target.
  5. If you want to change the mapping, select a destination type from the Destination Type list. For more information, see Data Type Mappings.
  6. [Optional] Specify the target column data type Size and restrictions.
  7. Click OK.
Columns that you modified appear in italics in the list under the table.
