After the command-line interface is installed, you can run a Data Mover command from any directory by typing datamove followed by the desired command and any required parameters.

Commands generally have required and optional parameters that can be specified by typing them directly in the command line, after the command. In addition, many of the commands require or allow you to pass additional information in an XML file. In addition, you can refer to sample XML files that are included when you install the command-line interface package. The sample XML files are located at /opt/teradata/client/nn.nn/datamover/commandline/samples where nn.nn refers to the major and minor version number of the product (for example, 14.11).
