Purpose

Grants authority to users at any or all of the five authority levels.

Syntax



The AU abbreviation is deprecated.

where:

userid
  • Virtual machine name
  • MVS/TSO userid for foreground MVS/TSO,
  • VOS3/TSS userid, or
  • z/OS or VOS3 jobname (IMS control region or CICS job).
ALL
Way to set the default authority for all users for whom no other specific authority has been granted.
Note that the ALL authority does not imply RESOLVE or AUTHORIZ; those authorities are set separately.
job
Jobname for the batch job, TSO userid, IMS control region, or CICS job that is being authorized.
NONE
Way to deny authority to issue TDP commands to the specified userid(s) or to ALL.
It reverses any authority.
DISPLAY
Way to grant authority to issue display commands only.
ANY
Way to grant authority to issue any TDP command except RESOLVE, except AUTHORIZ.
AUTHORIZ
Way to grant authority to issue any TDP command except RESOLVE, including AUTHORIZ.
RESOLVE
Way to grant authority to issue the DISPLAY and RESOLVE TDP commands.

Usage Notes

At the start, the system is set to the default authority level of NONE.

You can execute the AUTHORIZ command from:
