The
Teradata Appliance for Hadoop 6 platform is made up of a combination of cabinet types, depending on the system configuration:
- Base processing/storage cabinet
- Contains up to eighteen nodes (depending on the type of power used), server management switches, InfiniBand network switches, optional Ethernet switches, a system virtualized management server (VMS), power hardware, and a keyboard/video/mouse (KVM) chassis.
- May optionally contain one of the following:
- Type A, B, C, D power: A 2800 system (one 4+0 clique or one 2+0 clique)
- Type A power: A 2850 system (one 2+0 clique)
- Type B, C, D power: A 2850 system (one 4+0 clique or one 2+0 clique)
- Type A, B, C, D power: A 680 system
- Type B, C, D power: A 2800 system (one 4+0 clique or one 2+0 clique) and one 680 system
- Type B, C, D power: A 2850 system (one 4+0 clique or one 2+0 clique) and one 680 system

- Expansion processing/storage cabinet
Contains up to eighteen nodes (depending on the type of power used), server management switches, InfiniBand network switches, optional Ethernet switches, a cabinet VMS, and power hardware.
- InfiniBand cabinet
- The 324-port InfiniBand cabinets are paired for redundancy, with one InfiniBand switch per cabinet.
AC boxes in the cabinet provide power. Ethernet switches provide server management functionality.
