The customer, with the advice of the Teradata representative, is responsible for performing the environmental stabilization.

If temperature and humidity changes have been extreme during transit, cabinets and components may develop condensation. Before installing or powering on the system:
  • The on-site installation environment must meet the operational requirements specified in Environmental Requirements.
  • Cabinets and components must be free of condensation.
  1. After moving the cabinets to the installation location, use the guidelines in the following table to determine the appropriate stabilization time.
    Condition Stabilization Period
    • No extreme temperature and humidity changes during transit and between the customer’s receiving area and on-site destination
    • Desiccant is present
    • No condensation is present on the cabinets or components
    None

  3. Before installation, inspect the surfaces of the cabinets and components for condensation:
    1. If signs of condensation remain, allow an additional stabilization period of two hours.
    2. Repeat the two-hour period until there are no signs of condensation.
  4. During installation:
    1. Continue to inspect the cabinets and components for signs of condensation.
    2. If condensation is present, allow additional stabilization periods of two hours until there are no signs of condensation.
