The Archive and Recovery (ARC) utility backs up and optionally restores databases and database objects (for example, tables, views, macros, and stored procedures). The ARC utility performs four major tasks:
Archive dumps information from the Teradata system onto portable storage media. Restore reverses the archive and moves the data from the storage media back to the database. Copy copies data from one system to another. Recovery uses information stored in permanent journals to roll back or roll forward row information.
