Time Considerations - Teradata Database

The time it takes to save a crashdump can take anywhere between 45 minutes to several hours. There are several factors that affect how long saving a crashdump could take:

The size of the crashdump (snapshot dumps are much smaller than regular dumps)

How many nodes you have

How busy the system is

Whether you save the crashdump without fallback (the default) or with fallback

Also, if you are using FTP services to send crashdump files to Teradata Customer Support, you must factor in that time as well.
