BTEQ handling of logon elements

To handle a user’s LOGON request, BTEQ takes all of the basic and advanced elements and passes their information along to CLI. CLI will work with TeraGSS as needed to authenticate the user based on the user-specified or default security mechanism and then handles requesting the required connections. When the logon is successful, the database will have assigned unique numbers to all the sessions associated with the logged on user. The above diagram represents how the logon string and logon mechanism information get routed for the purpose of authenticating a user.
