A new parser has been introduced in the ODBC Driver for Teradata 15.10, which parses only ODBC escape sequences. No other transformations will take place in SQL. All new features supported by the ODBC Driver for Teradata in this release only work with the new parser. As part of this feature, support was removed for all legacy transformations, which are deprecated. For the list of deprecated transformations see ODBC Sample Program Usage Information. To allow work with applications using deprecated transformations, a DSN Option “Enable Legacy Parser” has been introduced, which enables the legacy parser.

The legacy parser is capped to the ODBC Driver for Teradata 15.00, and no 15.10 features were supported. So it is strongly advised to retain the default value for the “Enable Legacy Parser” option when using the ODBC driver against DBS 15.10 or later.
To enable the legacy parser through odbc.ini in UNIX/Linux and Apple OS X platforms, refer to the description of the "EnableLegacyParser=[Yes|No]" option in ODBC Sample Program Usage Information. To enable the legacy parser through ODBC Administrator in Windows, refer to the description of the "Enable Legacy Parser" check box in Teradata ODBC Driver Options. To enable the legacy parser through the ODBC Administrator in the Apple OS X platform, refer to the description of the "Enable Legacy Parser" check box in Configuring a DSN Using ODBC Administrator Tool.
