The ODBC driver currently has the option to enable and disable Large Object (LOB) data types. When enabled (UseNativeLOBSupport in odbc.ini and Use Native Large Object Support in the DSN setup dialog), SQL_LONGVARBINARY ODBC data type maps to the Teradata Binary Large Object (BLOB) feature, and SQL_LONGVARCHAR maps to the Teradata Character Large Object (CLOB) feature.
The default setting has been changed from no to yes. It is strongly advised to retain the default setting for Native Large Object (LOB) data types, because the option will be removed in a future release.
