After restoring a single table or database, run the post_data_restore script with the -t option. The post_data_restore script performs required actions such as revalidating PPI tables and compiling stored procedures and UDFs on all database objects in the system. Running the script with the -t option limits the required actions to only the single database or table being restored. In addition, the -t option suppresses production of harmless errors that do not require resolution.

Each Teradata Database release has a unique subdirectory in the PUTTools directory for the post-migration and post-upgrade scripts applicable to that release. The folder is /opt/teradata/PUTTools/tdnn.xx.xx.xx, where nn is the major release number (15, 16, 17, and so forth), and xx.xx.xx is either the literal string xx.xx.xx (for initial releases, like 15.00, 16.00, 17.00, and so forth) or the minor release number (like 10, for 15.10 or 16.10) followed by xx.xx.

Do not run DIP scripts after migrating a single table or database.

  1. Log in on the Control Node as user root.
  2. Run the post_data_restore script with the -t option, using the following syntax:
    # /opt/teradata/PUTTools/tdnn.xx.xx.xx/IUMB_scripts/post_data_restore -t tablename_or_databasename tdpid/dbc,dbcpassword

To run the post_data_restore script for table DB1.Tbl1 on a Teradata Database release 15.10 system (full release number 15.10.xx.xx) that has a TDPID of TDProd, use the following command:

    # /opt/teradata/PUTTools/td15.10.xx.xx/IUMB_scripts/post_data_restore -t DB1.Tbl1 TDProd/dbc,dbcpassword
