When contracted, all migration and upgrade services are performed by the Teradata Services team.
Many methods and options are available to move data from one system to another. This document focuses only on migrating an entire system, including access rights. To perform this type of migration, you must first archive database DBC followed by all user databases and objects from the source system, and then restore these items in the same order on the destination system.
For migrations from Linux systems running Teradata Database releases earlier than 14.10, you must use the Teradata Archive/Recovery (ARC) utility in conjunction with Teradata Backup, Archive, and Restore (BAR) application software for archiving and restoration. Beginning with Teradata Database release 14.10, you can use the Teradata Data Stream Architecture (DSA) or the ARC utility.
