On supported Teradata platforms, the Workload Management Pre-Migration Tool enables DBAs to refine the otherwise automatic results of converting workloads when migrating from SLES10 SP3 to SLES11. Prior to migration, use the tool to write output directives to the tdwm.premigrate table. At upgrade time, TDWMDIP, a DIP script run by the post_data_restore script, migrates SLES10 SP3 TDWM rule sets into SLES11 rule sets based on the directives in the tdwm.premigrate table.
The Pre-Migration Tool allows you to specify the rule sets to be migrated. Other rule sets are not converted and are not migrated to SLES 11. If you do not use the tool, TDWMDIP migrates all rule sets. To speed workload migration, delete rule sets that you have not used and do not intend to use in the future before using the tool and upgrading to SLES 11.
