For a new DSA installation, Teradata prepares and delivers a DSC server, which requires DSC software to be installed and configured onsite. You must also configure BAR hardware, and install and configure additional DSA component software. The following list outlines the general workflow.
- Install the Parallel Upgrade Tool (PUT) if you are using PUT to install software. See Preparing for Software Installation.
- Set up the BAR hardware by installing software on the DSC Server and configuring the Teradata Database. See Setting Up the DSA Platform.
- Install DSA component software with PUT or scripts. See Installing Software.
- Configure the DSA environment. See Configuring the Environment.
- Configure third-party software, such as NetBackup. See Configuring Third-Party Software.
