For one or more columns of categorical data, Frequency analysis counts the number of occurrences of each value individually or in combination.
You can apply Frequency analysis to a single BYTE column or one or more columns or any other data type.
Frequency analysis help you do the following:
- Understand the meaning of a particular data element.
- Find values that need recoding, while building an analytic dataset or permanently.
- Analyze combinations of values occurring in two or more columns.
The Vantage Analytics Library frequency function reports the percentage of rows that have an individual value or of combination of values in descending order.
