You can use the following procedure to increase EBS, EC2 instances, and VPC elastic IP address limits. You can also use it to increase other AWS service limits. See Amazon User Guide for Linux Instances.
  1. From the EC2 Console, select Limits.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Under EBS Limits, locate the General Purpose (SSD) volume storage.
    • Under Instance Limits, locate the instance for which to increase the limit.
  3. Under Action, select Request limit increase.
  4. On the Create Case page, do one of the following to create a case:
    1. [Optional] For CC, enter the email addresses of people to notify when the case status changes.
      If you are signed in as an IAM user, include your own email address. If you are signed in with your email address and password, you do not need to include your email address.
    2. For Regarding, select Service Limit Increase.
    3. For Limit Type, do one of the following:
      • Select EBS.
      • Select EC2 Instances.
      • Select EC2-VPC Elastic IPs.
    4. Select or search for the region where you want to apply this change.
    5. [Optional] Select Add another request to increase the limits in other regions if you are deploying additional Vantage AMIs.
    6. For Use Case Description, enter the limit you are requesting and the reason you need the increase.
      Add sufficient details to your description.
      Depending on the size of increase you request, it may take extra time for the Amazon Service Team to approve your request. For example, if you request an EBS limit increase from 20 to 200 TiB, it may take 24-48 hours for the team to approve your request.
    7. For Support Language, select your language.
    8. For Contact method, select the way you want to be contacted.
    9. Select Submit.
      You receive a summary email with a Case ID number and additional emails if your request was approved or the Amazon Service Team needs more information.
