PrerequisiteDeploy Vantage first. See Deploying VantageCloud Using AWS CloudFormation
Some Teradata software can be deployed using Manual Launch if you are deploying the software separately from Vantage on AWS.
  1. If you have not already subscribed to the software you want to deploy, contact Teradata account team to enable ecosystem offers for your AWS account.
  2. Log in to AWS Marketplace https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace.
  3. From your account menu in the upper-right corner, select Your Marketplace Software.
  4. Select Launch new instance under the subscription name of the software you want to deploy.
  5. Review the Delivery method, Software version and Region , then select Full AWS Marketplace website under Software version.
  6. In Configure this Software page, you can select old versions of Software and select Continue to lanuch on the top right corner.
  7. In Launch this software page, under Chose Action dropdown, select Launch through EC2 and click on launch.
  8. In the Launch an instance page refer the below table for details.
    Parameters Remarks
    Name Add name to the instance that is being launched.
    Instance type Select the instance type you want to use from dropdown. Unsupported instance types are greyed out for the selected amis.
    Key Pair Select an exisitng key pair from drop down or create a new one by clicking “create new key pair”
    Network settings Review the selected values in network settings. Click on edit but if you need to make changes.
    VPC Select VPC in which you want your instance to be deployed.
    Subnet Select already existing subnet from dropdown or create new one by clicking “create new subnet”
    Auto-assign Public IP Select Enable.
    Security group

    Select an already exisiting subnet from drop down or create new one.

    If you are creating a new security group.

    a. Enter a Security Group Name a description.

    b. Configure the SSH rule, and select Add Rule to configure additional rules as required.

    Configure Storage Review the volumes selected. Add volume if necessary.
    Advanced details More advanced settings can be edited on expand.
  9. Review the details on the Summary section and select Launch Instance if no further changes are required.
    View your instance on EC2 management console once deployment is complete.
PostrequisiteWhen the Instance State changes to running, complete the applicable procedure under Configuring Teradata Software on AWS.
