Vantage on AWS (DIY) offers license tiers in the AWS Marketplace that include the rights to use the listed software.

Teradata Vantage license tier use cases, scalability, and performance.

The Base, Advanced, and Enterprise tiers include Teradata Premier Cloud Support with your paid AWS subscription. See https://www.teradata.com/Cloud/AWS/Do-it-Yourself/Pricing.

After deploying the free Developer tier, it operates as a fully functional instance of the configured Vantage; however, you cannot upgrade Teradata software, access the Teradata customer portal, or use ServiceConnect with this tier. To use a later version of Developer, you must install a new version, which results in data loss. Developer includes community-driven customer support at support.teradata.com/community_AWS.

What's New

New features introduced as part of DIY 2.4.1.2 release includes: Root Encryption to all regions, Removal of Mainframe option, support of ViewPoint 22.10, and introduction to Platform Service Intelligent Monitoring (PSIM).

New Features Description
Root Encryption to all regions

Now we have the Root Encryption option available to all the AWS regions.

Removal of Mainframe option Removed the Mainframe connectivity option from the CFT template and customer can only connect mainframe after deployment.
Platform Service Intelligent Monitoring (PSIM) In contrast to the legacy CMIC, the PSIM software is deployed as RPM packages on a standard hardened SLES OS base image. This allows for easier installation and management.

For SQLE – 17.20 version, the minimum node size should be two for the Vantage Databases.
