This release of Teradata® VantageCloud Enterprise on AWS (DIY) supports the Database Engine 20.
The Analytics Database 17.20 will reach end of life (EoL) on June 30th, 2027. Only critical bug fixes will be provided through maintenance releases until then. If you are on 17.20 version, upgrade to 3.X, ensure to have a documented upgrade plan with the Teradata Global Change Control team, or have an approved exception. Contact Teradata Support or your Account team for details.
Starting Q3 2026, the 17.20 version will not be available for new deployments from the marketplace. If you are planning for new deployments, Teradata recommends to use the latest supported versions.
Starting from the release (3.0.0.0), only the latest SQL version (DB Engine 20.0.0.0) is available for first-time deployment of VantageCloud Enterprise (DIY). Note that this change will not affect customers who have already subscribed to the product and deployed older versions of Teradata® VantageCloud Enterprise on AWS (DIY).
If you need to deploy an older, restricted version to replicate the existing environment version in a different account, you can copy the CloudFormation Template (CFT) from the older environment to the new account.
While some versions are now hidden from public availability, note that Amazon Machine Images (AMIs) are still accessible using the appropriate CFTs.
