Use the following advanced elements of the LOGON command to specify the non-default authentication mechanism such as LDAP or SSO:
- LOGMECH
- LOGDATA
External authentication allows workstation-attached users and mainframe-attached users employing Gateway-mediated CLI to be authenticated by an external agent rather than by a Teradata mechanism. The database must be properly configured to support external authentication and a mechanism that supports it must be selected. Mainframe-attached users employing TDP-mediated CLI cannot use external authentication.
