If BTEQ is on a workstation-attached system or mainframe-attached system employing Gateway-mediated CLI, the user can log on without the system prompting for a username and password by using the LOGONPROMPT command (see LOGONPROMPT (LP) for more information).

Step Action Result or Explanation
1 Enter the LOGONPROMPT command:

.SET LOGONPROMPT OFF

The system does not prompt the user to enter or qualify userid and password information.
2 Enter the LOGON command:

.LOGON tdpid/

If the logon is successful, BTEQ displays the successful logon message.
