QueryGrid Manager Installation and Configuration
The following table shows the workflow for installing and configuring QueryGrid Manager. The procedures are covered in this guide.
Task | Required Information |
---|---|
For the Data Center, identify the number of QueryGrid Manager instances needed | See QueryGrid Manager Sizing |
Install the QueryGrid Manager instances, one instance per TMS, server, or VM | QueryGrid Manager TMS or server login (either root or user with sudo privileges) |
Cluster the QueryGrid Manager instances, if applicable | – |
In Viewpoint, configure QueryGrid Manager | From the customer, obtain Viewpoint logon credentials of a user in the Administrator role. |
QueryGrid Installation and Configuration Using the QueryGrid Portlet
The following table shows the basic workflow for installing and configuring QueryGrid in the QueryGrid portlet. Additional configuration is available for networks, communication policies, and user mappings. The procedures are covered in this guide.
Task | Required Information |
---|---|
Upload QueryGrid node, fabric, and connector software | – |
Add a Data Center to QueryGrid | Use a logical name for the Data Center where systems (data sources) are located. |
Add a data source system | Use a logical name for the system Specify the max memory per node resource limit (how much memory you should reserve on each node in the system for QueryGrid operations). |
Add data source nodes to the system | You must have root or sudo privileges for all data source nodes in the system. You must manually enter the IP addresses or hostnames of the following nodes:
For a Hadoop system, you can do one of the following:
|
Add a bridge system [optional] | You must have root or sudo privileges for all nodes to be added to the system. You can use existing data source nodes in a bridge system, or non-data source nodes. If using non-data source nodes, you will need the IP addresses or hostnames of the nodes. |
Add a fabric | Use a logical name for the fabric. |
Add a connector | Use a logical name for the connector. |
Add a link | Use a logical name for the link. |
