Request-message-release might be used to aid in problem diagnosis.

Refers to the session whose CLIv2 connection number is specified in the QEPCONN field and the request whose CLIv2 request number is specified in the QEPRQST field. Since they do not apply, the QEPTLEN, QEPRQST, and QEPTOKEN fields must contain binary zeroes.

Returns the CLIv2 release identifier and any customization information for the message table that will be used for the request.

The intent of the data is not to deduce CLIv2 functionality, but simply to provide the release information for whatever diagnostic use it may be. The value should not be parsed for any reason since its format is subject to change.
Item Code Mnemonic Response QEPIRMR (DbqerRMR for C)
Field Value
27 DBQERRMR QERRMR ('release' for C)

The returned information consists of up to forty-nine EBCDIC characters, consisting of one or two identifiers separated by a comma.

The first, which begins with 'CL2.', identifies the CLIv2 release identifier: the two-character offering number; the one-character major release number and one-character minor release number; the two-character maintenance release number; and a three-character E-tape number; each separated by periods.

The second presents any optional customization identification provided by the message table. It is free-format information between one and thirty-two characters.
