Purpose

Requests response data from the database. Typically, it carries the current length of the input (response) buffer.

Usage Notes

When the last record from a spool file is sent in response to a start or continue request containing a Respond parcel, the spool file is deleted.

This parcel is generated by CLIv2 at the direction of the application.

Parcel Data

The following table provides field information for the ExtendRespond parcel.

Flavor Parcel Body Length Parcel Body Fields
153 4 MaxMsgSize: 4-byte unsigned integer
MaxMsgSize is the maximum number of bytes that can be returned to the client in one response. The minimum allowable buffer size is 256 bytes, hence MaxMsgSize must be greater than or equal to 256. The maximum value is 4294967295.

Whether the ExtendedRespond parcel is supported by the database can be ascertained using the CLIv2 DBCHQE Extended-response-support query.
