After it is allocated, the DBCAREA must be initialized before a call to CLIv2 requesting CLIv2 services can be attempted. The application initializes the DBCAREA by putting the total length of the DBCAREA into the DBCAREA Total-length field of the structure and calling DBCHINI (see Common Routines for a description of the call to DBCHINI).
