PrerequisiteThe Teradata Viewpoint Administrator must assign the Manage Lab Groups permission using Roles Manager for your Viewpoint role.
After a lab group is created, you can change the lab group default access for users and roles. When the lab group owner gives access to default Analytics Database users and roles, the access is either full control or read-only for all labs in the lab group.

If a selected user or role is read-only at the lab group level, the read-only option for that user or role is hidden for associated labs. You can upgrade a read-only user or role to full permission by selecting them in the individual labs.

If a selected user or role has full permission at the lab group level, they will not appear in the list of available users for associated labs because they already have full access in associated labs.

  1. From the Lab Groups table in the Monitoring tab, click next to the lab group, and select Edit.
  2. Click the Default Access tab.
  3. Select the Give access to selected users and roles check box.
  4. Change the Analytics Database users and roles that can access all labs in a lab group:
    Option Description
    Change current lab group default users
    • Use to move the selected users and roles from the Selected boxes to the Available boxes.
    • Use to move the selected users and roles from the Available boxes to the Selected boxes.
    • [Optional] Select the Read-only check box if you want to give read-only access to labs in this lab group.

      Read-only users cannot send requests to remove a user, increase or decrease lab size, delete, extend, or reinstate a lab, drop an object, or edit lab details.

    Add more lab group default users
    • Use to move one or more selected users and roles in the Available boxes to the Selected boxes.
    • [Optional] Select the Read-only check box if you want to give read-only access to labs in this lab group.

      Read-only users cannot send requests to remove a user, increase or decrease lab size, delete, extend, or reinstate a lab, drop an object, or edit lab details.

  5. [Optional] In the User list filter box, type to filter the list of available users.
  6. Click Save.
