Purpose

Associates a TDP with the HSI Operating System Subsystem Interface.

If the subsystem uses SVC mode, TDP is associated with a version of HSIOSSI. If the subsystem uses PC mode, TDP should be associated with a version of HSI Program Call Services (HSISXMS).

Syntax

where:

suffix_character
Suffix character of the HSIOSSI or HSISXMS module to be used.
The character can be alphabetic, numeric, or $, #, or @.

Usage Notes

When the database uses more than one TDP subsystem (for example, a test TDP subsystem and a production TDP subsystem), each subsystem can use a different version of the HSIOSSI (SVC mode) or HSISXMS (PC mode) module to communicate with an application address space. To enable a TDP to distinguish between HSIOSSI or HSISXMS modules, a suffix is appended to the name of each module during the installation of the database software on the z/OS client.

When TDP starts, the OSSISUFX is not set. When the INITIAL IOMODE command is executed, the version of HSIOSSI or HSISXMS identified by the suffix character must be compatible with the version of the TDP to be used.

Example: INITIAL OSSISUFX
