After TDP starts, it can be initialized to communicate with the database. The environment in which TDP is to operate is defined using TDP operator commands.
The TDP operator commands can be entered manually from a console or automatically in the TDPPARM data set.
Minimally, the following TDP operator commands are necessary:
- START CP or START NP for each communication processor configured for this Logical-host on the database
- If NPs are being used, CONFIG NP LHID, CONFIG NP DATABASE, and possibly CONFIG NP DOMAIN.
- ENABLE LOGONS (to allow users to log on to TDP)
- RUN (to begin the execution phase of TDP operation; allows TDP commands, including the ones currently queued, to be executed)
You can use additional operator commands, such as INITIAL commands, to further define the TDP environment.
