The OFS Table-level Retention Policy introduces new SQL syntax and supporting metadata that allow administrators to define and manage retention policies at the USER, PROFILE, and DATABASE levels. As part of this feature, the CREATE and MODIFY statements for these entities are enhanced, and new columns are added to the existing DBC.DBASE and DBC.PROFILES dictionary tables. Additional dictionary views and online help resources present this information in a clear, accessible format, making it easier for users to configure, view, and maintain retention settings across the system.
The following examples that show how tables inherit default retentiondays from the database, user, or profile apply to OFS. Creating a MOTF table follows the same inheritance rules for default retentiondays (cases 2 and 3).
