Purpose

TERM specifies that PP2 diagnostics are directed to the associated file spec. NOTERM specifies that error output is suppressed.

Usage Notes

Default Mutually Exclusive
NOTERM TERM and NOTERM

For PP2 in the IBM mainframe environment, the error file defaults to the file associated with a ddname or filedef name of SYSTERM.

When running PP2 in a workstation-attached environment:
  • If TERM is specified, but a file is not specified, the error file defaults to the file associated with STDERR.
  • If a file name is specified with no extension, the default file extension is .err.
