Line continuation rules for a SQL statement are the same as normal line continuation rules for PL/I, with these exceptions:
- Specify the EXEC SQL prefix on one line.
- A SQL statement can be split wherever a blank can occur.
- If a line ends with a nonblank character in the right margin and the next line begins with a nonblank character in the left margin, the two lines are considered as one.
