The timeout feature has been added into the Teradata Access Module for Named Pipes. The access module returns control to the application at the expiration of the timer. The timer expires after the elapse of the timeout interval that is set by the caller application.
The following behavior is associated with the timeout feature:
- The Teradata Access Module for Named Pipes returns control to the application with the expectation that the application return to the access module for more data.
- The Teradata Access Module for Named Pipes returns control to the application with the indication that there is no more data and that the application should perform its normal duties.
