Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is used to communicate with Vantage.
The client must be connected to one of the following:
- The same Ethernet LAN as Vantage
- An Ethernet LAN that permits the client to communicate with Vantage through one or more routers
- A node attached to Vantage through BYNET. No separate network controller board or network software is required; the client provides its own.
The appropriate Ethernet hardware and software supporting a TCP/IP-based network must be installed on every database with which the client communicates.
