- While upgrading to a new maintenance level (such as from 17.00.00 to 17.00.01) or installing emergency media, use APPCHK to simulate the installation before performing the APPLY step.The APPCHK member generates a regression report that lists the following information:

If you are a new customer or if you are migrating to a new release (for example, from 17.00.00 to 17.00.01), you do not need to run APPCHK. APPCHK only simulates the installation process.
- To install a maintenance or emergency release, execute APPMNT or EAPPLY.
