Complete this step only if you have chosen to use SVC communication mode instead of PC (Program Call) mode at your site. In general, the more efficient PC mode is recommended.
If your site is using PC mode, go to Defining Teradata Director Program Subsystems.
If you are using the SVC communication mode:
- Define a minimum of one SVC number for use by the Teradata software. To accommodate coexistence of the current version of Vantage software with a future version, Teradata recommends that you define two SVC numbers.
Each SVC number defined must have all of the following characteristics:
- Three-digit number, in the range 200-255 inclusive, and currently unassigned.
- SVC type 3 or type 4.
